Content Studio: Unable to save scrolling text presentation due to one or more elements are overlapping

Potential Symptoms

  • Cannot save scrolling text message.

  • Unable to save scrolling text presentation due to one or more elements are overlapping.
  • Receive the following error:
The presentation cannot be saved. One of more scrolling text elements are overlapping by another element and/or the layout has text or data field directly on it. This is not allowed for Galaxy or GalaxyPro displays. Please fix any overlapping elements or remove the text or data field on the layout before saving again

  • Content Studio
  • Venus 1500 V4
  • Venus Prime
  • Venus Pro
  • Venus Elite

Cause

Scrolling text cannot overlap another element such as a Text Box, Image or Video.  If scrolling text is overlapping another element, then you cannot save the presentation and will receive the above error.

Resolution

  1. Click on the Timeline Tab in Content Studio.
  2. Select the Text, Graphic or Video Element from the Timeline.
  3. Make sure the element boxes does not overlap with the Scrolling Text element.
  4. If one of the elements do overlap the Scrolling Text, do one of the following:
    1. Click-drag and move the element away from the scrolling element
    2. Resize the element box
    3. Delete the element.
  5. Once the elements are no longer overlapping, you can save presentation as normal.

For Temporary Operation

Recreate the message or layout in Content Studio.
