Resolution

Requirements:

There are three requirements a customer will have for foreign language support within Content Studio.
  • Requirement 1:
    • The font used must support the characters in the desired language.
       
  • Requirement 2:
    • The user will need some type of input device to type text in such as a keyboard. The on-screen keyboard can be used in Microsoft Windows.
       
  • Requirement 3:
    • The regional settings on the operating system should be setup appropriately based on the desired language. This is important for the input device to know what language to use.

Example:

For example, to use Ukrainian in Content Studio, a user could use Arial font, have a Ukrainian keyboard, and have appropriate Ukrainian regional settings configured in the operating system.

Notes:
  • Microsoft Word can be used to verify if a font can be used in that language.  
  • If you visit http://www.unicode.org/standard/supported.html you will see all the languages supported by Unicode which Venus 1500 added in V4.9.  At the back of the V4 Help Guide (located by going to the Application Menu - Help - Contents) there is a section on using foreign languages.  There are specific settings on the computer along with needing the appropriate keyboard and fonts installed.
  • If you aren't able to set up your computer for foreign language, you could create the content in Photoshop or in another external program and then import that as an image.
