LiveWrx: How do I create a custom Gameday Trivia/This or That question?

LiveWrx includes two activations, Gameday Trivia and This or That, that involve questions your fans can engage with. LiveWrx allows you to create custom questions for both of these activation types.

This article explains how to create custom questions for both types of game. 

Environment

  • Product: LiveWrx
  • Components: Activities, Activations 
  • Control System: LiveWrx Play Maker, LiveWrx Dashboard

Steps

You can create custom questions for Gameday Trivia or for This or That. Both processes are similar, but have slightly different steps. These processes are outlined below:

Once a custom question has been created, learn how to change Activity outcomes to add your question to an Activation for use during your live event.

Create a custom Gameday Trivia question

Log in to LiveWrx

  1. Navigate to Play Maker using the Portal Menu
  2. Click the Pencil icon next to GAMEDAY TRIVIA 
    • This will open a list of questions in the Content Manager
  3. Click the Duplicate icon next to a question
    • Confirm with Yes
    • LiveWrx allows you to create questions from scratch, but duplicating an existing question is often the easiest way to create new ones
  4. Edit question content
    • Add/Adjust Tags for this question for easier searchability
    • Add/Adjust Question Cue Text with your custom question
      • Best practice use ALL CAPS in all of your LiveWrx edits.
    • If desired, adjust Mobile Background Image or Color
    • Click the  icon to edit Mobile Header Image 
      • Your school logo would work well here
    • Edit the Reveal Header Message
      • Click the  icon to replace the image that appears when the answer is revealed
        • This can be a school logo, or could be a picture of the answer to the question
      • Edit the text within the box to the updated answer
        • You will likely need to scroll down to access this text
    • Add/Adjust Answer Options
      • Three answer options is the recommended number to ensure proper visibility for all options
      • Check the box next to the correct answer
    • Edit answer option colors, if desired
      • Use the Mobile Preview and Video Preview to see what your answer options will look like as you update colors
  5. Click Save
    • You can now use this custom question on future Gameday Trivia games
Create a custom This or That question

Log in to LiveWrx

  1. Navigate to Play Maker using the Portal Menu
  2. Click the Pencil icon next to THIS OR THAT 
    • This will open a list of questions in the Content Manager
  3. Click the Duplicate icon next to a question
    • Confirm with Yes
    • LiveWrx allows you to create questions from scratch, but duplicating an existing question is often the easiest way to create new ones
  4. Edit question content
    • Add/Adjust Tags for this question for easier searchability
    • Add/Adjust Question Cue Text with your custom question
      • Best practice is to use ALL CAPS in all of your LiveWrx edits.
    • If desired, adjust Mobile Background Image or Color
    • Add/Adjust Answer Images
      • Image Size: 256 x 256 px
      • File Type: JPG/PNG/GIF
    • Edit answer option colors, if desired
      • Use the Mobile Preview and Video Preview to see what your answer options will look like as you update colors
  5. Click Save
    • LiveWrx will give a message due to there being no correct answer set. This setting is expected for a This or That game. Click Save to finalize your custom question
    • You can now use this custom question on future This or That games
