All Sport Pro Soccer: How does the game clock work?

The Game Clock in All Sport Pro Soccer is used to control and monitor match time during soccer gameplay. The clock supports soccer-specific timing needs, including Count Up timing, stoppage time, and Extra Time.

 

Soccer timing behavior varies based on the configured Rules:
  • Professional soccer typically uses a Count Up clock with stoppage time
  • High School and NCAA soccer typically use a Count Down clock
 
This article explains how to access the Game Clock, identify the available clock controls, update the match period, manage stoppage time, and understand how the clock behaves during match play.

Steps

Access the Soccer Game Clock
  1. Open All Sport Pro and start or load a Soccer game.
  2. Once the Soccer game is open, locate the Game Clock tile at the top‑center of the interface.

  1. The Game Clock tile is used to control and monitor match time throughout gameplay.
Game Clock Controls
  • The Game Clock tile includes menus that allow operators to review and adjust available match timing options.

Match Period

  1. Locate the current match period on the Game Clock tile.
    • Example: 1st Half
  2. Select the vertical dots next to the current match period.
  3. Select the appropriate match period from the list.
    • Available match periods vary based on the configured match format and may include options such as:
      • Pregame
      • 1st
      • Halftime
      • 2nd
      • Overtime
        • OT 1
        • OT 2
      • Final

💡 In the current interface, additional professional soccer periods may appear under Overtime or OT options. In professional soccer, this match scenario is commonly referred to as Extra Time

  1. Confirm the Game Clock tile displays the correct match period.

       

    💡 The Clock Time and Stoppage Time will automatically reset when advancing to the next Match Period after the previous period has reached full time. Operators do not need to manually adjust the clock or repeatedly select -1 to clear stoppage time. 

     

    Clock Mode

    1. Locate the clock mode on the Game Clock tile.
      • Example: Count Up
    2. Select the vertical dots next to the clock mode.
    3. Select the option to edit the clock mode.
      • Example: Edit Count Up Clock
    4. Verify the clock mode is set correctly for match operation.

     

    💡 Soccer games may use either Count Up or Count Down clock modes based on the configured Rules.  
    • Professional soccer typically uses Count Up clock mode.
    • High School and NCAA soccer typically use Count Down clock mode.

     

    Stoppage Time

    1. Locate the Stoppage Time section below the Game Clock.
    2. Select the vertical dots next to Stoppage Time.
    3. Select the appropriate stoppage time value or use the available adjustment options.
      • Available options may include:
        • Minute selections, such as 1–12
        • +1
        • -1
    4. Confirm the Stoppage Time section displays the correct value.

    💡 The main Game Clock continues to track total match time while Stoppage Time is managed separately.

     

    Use the Game Clock During Match Play 

    1. Locate the Play control on the Game Clock tile.
    2. Use the Game Clock controls to start, stop, or resume match timing.
    3. Monitor the Game Clock during match play to track the current match time.

    💡 The Game Clock controls match timing and runs based on operator control. 

       

      Understand Soccer Game Clock Terminology
      1. The Game Clock is the primary control clock for soccer gameplay.
        • Clock behavior depends on the configured Rules and selected Clock Mode.   
        • In Count Up configurations, the clock tracks total elapsed match time and can continue beyond standard regulation time. 
        • In Count Down configurations, the clock tracks time remaining in the period. 
        • Count Up configurations support match scenarios such as stoppage time and additional match periods. 
      💡 Game Clock behavior follows the configured match structure and configured Rules. Operators control timing but do not manually enforce rule logic.
       
      1. The Capped Game Clock stops at the end of a defined regulation period. It is commonly used for Professional / Count Up display and broadcast scenarios.
        • Examples may include:
          • 45 minutes at the end of a half
          • 90 minutes at the end of regulation
          • Other configured limits depending on the match format
        • It may not appear as a separate operator-facing control on the main Game Clock tile.
        • While the displayed time remains at the regulation limit, the main Game Clock continues running in the background.

       

      1. Stoppage Time is additional time added at the end of a match period to account for delays during play. It is primarily used with Professional / Count Up soccer configurations. 
        • All Sport Pro Soccer supports tracking for:
          • Announced stoppage time – the minimum additional time indicated for the period.
          • Elapsed stoppage time – the actual time played beyond the regulation limit.
          • Elapsed stoppage time may exceed the announced value based on match conditions.
          • Stoppage Time is tracked separately from the main Game Clock.

       

      1. Overtime / Extra Time allows for match play beyond regulation periods.
        • Ensures the full match duration is accurately tracked.
        • Commonly referred to as Extra Time (ET) in professional soccer match play.
        • In the current All Sport Pro Soccer interface, these periods may appear as Overtime, OT 1, or OT 2.
