Topic
Upload, schedule, and verify a programmatic advertising file to display dynamic content from third-party vendors using the Venus Control Suite Scheduling App.
Programmatic advertising integration in Venus Control Suite uses the VAST (Video Ad Serving Template) protocol.
- This feature is supported only for customers using VCS Professional or higher.
- Daktronics has verified compatibility with:
- Place Exchange – DPF file scheduling
- Vengo Labs – URI file scheduling (HTML-based content)
Environment
- Product Family: Venus Professional, Venus Enterprise
- Product: Scheduling App (AdGrid, OOH)
- Component: Programmatic Scheduling (DPF File)

Testing and Verification
- Once scheduled, verify that the display is successfully pulling and playing programmatic content.
- Ad playback can be monitored through your third-party vendor’s dashboard (e.g., Place Exchange or Vengo Labs).
- Venus Control Suite does not control or verify the specific ad content being served, this is managed by the vendor.
- If no content is served, ensure your programmatic source URL is valid and reachable.
⚠️Daktronics does not provide a “skip ad” or “fallback” feature if no ad content is returned. Customers should configure default content or failover behavior through their third-party programmatic provider.
