All Sport Pro: How to Set Up the Interface and Network Connection?

Topic

This article focuses on getting the hardware powered and connected, whether wired or wireless, and accessing the interface for the first time.

As of Sept 30, 2025, Series 2.0 (plastic enclosure) is no longer produced. Series 2.5 (metal enclosure, internal battery, power-off button) is the official replacement and is a direct drop-in replacement for Series 2.0, with identical ports, radio, firmware, and power supply.

Environment

  • Product: All Sport Pro Series 2.5
  • Component: Interface, Network
  • Control System: All Sport Pro

Steps

Power On the Interface
  1. Connect the power supply to a 120 VAC wall outlet.
  2. Plug the other end into the POWER IN jack on the interface.
  3. Confirm the POWER LED illuminates steady orange.

Mount the Interface (Optional)
  1. The interface is typically placed on a desk in front of the operator.
  2. Use the included mounting brackets to secure the device under a desk or to a wall.
  3. Fasteners are not included.

Connect to a Wired Network
  1. Option 1: Plug a device (e.g., tablet or laptop) directly into the TABLET/COMPUTER jack.
  2. Option 2: Connect both the device and the DAKTRONICS NETWORK jack to a Daktronics network switch or router.
    • This jack is set to DHCP by default.
  3. For tablets:
    • iPads supplied by Daktronics include an Ethernet adapter
    • For a customer-supplied tablet, an Ethernet adapter must be provided by the customer.
  4. Open a browser and go to allsport.local:5000 to access the interface.
    • 💡Trainer Tip: Bookmark the URL for quick access on game day.
Set up the Wi-Fi Extension Kit (Optional)

Use this option the interface needs to be operated from a greater distance, such as field-level during practice.

Option 1: Using the Daktronics Wi-Fi Extension Kit

These steps apply when the kit is purchased from Daktronics:

  1. Install the wireless access point (WAP) within 100 feet of the control rack.
  2. Ensure a clear line of sight to the wireless device if possible.
  3. Connect the PoE adapter to power and the router using the supplied CAT5e cables.
  4. Connect the PoE port to the WAP using the 100' CAT5e cable (can be shortened and re-terminated if needed).
  5. Power on the wireless device.
  6. Open a browser and go to allsport.local:5000.

 Option 2: Using a customer-provided Wi-Fi network
Customers may integrate the Wi-Fi Extension Kit with their own network. Steps may vary depending on the network setup.

⚠️ Note: For high-level games, a wired connection is recommended for reliability.

Additional Information
  • Multiple All Sport Pro Interfaces cannot exist on the same network without changing the hostname. Refer to the Device Configuration section of the operation manual.
  • iOS 17.4+ is required for iPad use. Recent installs have seen iOS 18.6.2+ required for auto join to work.
  • The wireless control kit includes a metal screen protector (EN-1847) to shield the WAP from ball impacts.
