Steps

Testing your MLS Sportec data

Please contact your Professional Services representative if you are interested in implementing Sportec data into your Daktronics control system.

Verify the MLS - Sportec feed in Data Studio
  1. On a computer on the Daktronics control system network (Show Control or Venus) open a new Chrome window and visit the Venus Launchpad (https://venus-p:13034/launchpad/home)
  2. Log into Venus Control Suite.  See: Venus Accounts: How do I log in to Venus Control Suite?
  3. Open Data Studio from the My Apps Menu located in the top right of the VCS Launchpad. Venus: My navigation has changed after updates.
  4. Locate the MLS Sportec feed under Data Sources.
  5. The indicator on the left indicates that status of the data.
    • 🟢 indicates a good connection to the data
    • 🔴 indicates an error in connectivity
  6. Click the desired data source.

  1. Under Feeds, click the paperclip next to the Data Source to preview.

  1. Click the ➕ under fields to expand the data and ➖to collapse the data.

Verify the feed in Content Studio

  1. Open Content Studio and create a new presentation or open an existing presentation.

    In the Dynamic Data Library, the MLS - Sportec Data Source should appear.

    • Note: The green refresh arrow button next to the drop down may need to be clicked.

  1. Click the ▸ drop down next to the feed to view data.

  1. Depending on the type of feed, the numbers will be used to switch between teams or players. For example, under TeamStatistic, 1 is the home team and 2 is the guest team, and under PlayerStatistic, the numbers indicate different players.

  1. Click and drag and edit data fields as usual in Content Studio to display them in the presentation.
