Mod that is too bright in a NovaStar controlled display

Environment

  • Product: Nova MCTRL 600, Nova MCTRL 660, NovaStar VX4S, NovaStar brand sender box and receiver  cards
  • Components: NovaLCT-Mars
  • Control System: Market Standard or Limited Compliance using transmit common/open protocol
    • This includes but not limited to DVN-4003, Dragon sticks, J Series, JVX, U Series, Q Series, QVN, Z Series, and ZPN.

Steps

Note: You can only bring adjustment down using this method.

Sign in as an Advanced User

  1. PW = 666
  2. Select Screen Control - put a color test pattern on display. NovaStar: How do I display a test pattern for in displays using a Nova LCT-Mars software?
    1. Start with the White color pattern.  Then repeat this process with Red, Green and Blue. 
    2. Minimize after the test pattern is going. 
  3. Select Calibration Icon from the NovaLCT software. (May need to double click.)
    1. Select Communication Port/IP
    2. Select the Correct Screen (if sender is controlling multiple screens)
    3. Select Change to Brightness Calibration
    4. Select Save
  4. Select OK to the saved successfully prompt.

Manage Coefficients 

  1. Select the Managed Coefficients Tab. 
    • Click Adjust Coefficients (Color is not uniform on screen).
  2. Click on the Select by Topology radio button. (If not already selected)
  3. Using slider bar, you can change the zoom level to see all panels.
    • Each box represents sender cards in display, it is important to understand the module size/pixels before moving forward.
  4. Click receiver card with module needing calibrated.
    • Will now see the size receiver is controlling (ie: 168x168)

  1. Click receiver card with module needing calibrated.

  2. Input the correct module size. (You may need to go back to re-enter the 1st number of module size)
  3. Select module box and click next.
  4. Verify the Adjust its Own Effect radio button is selected at the top.
  5. Click next.
    • The software will grab the coefficient data from the receiver card. 
  6. Click OK when prompted. 
A box (representing the test pattern) will appear on screen.  It will be white if playing the white test pattern. (Select "hide color window" on screen behind white one)

Simple Adjustment

Adjust each color as needed to get a uniform color on the display.  It is recommended to type the number& enter in the box to save vs the slider.  For the white, you would adjust all the colors.  When using a red, green or blue pattern, only the corresponding color would need the simple adjustment.

Module will scale and show adjustment; continue adjustments until module is calibrated.
  1. When complete, hit Next.
  2. Select Apply the adjustment effect to other areas if needing additional modules with the same exact adjustment settings.
  3. Select Save.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Click Return.
