Content Studio How do I configure a custom data profile in the Profile Editor in my Daktronics Show Control System?

Topic

  • How do I create a new custom data profile for Content Studio?

The Profile Editor is used to edit or add data inputs.  Individuals using Closed Captioning, Twitter Feeds, or other custom data feeds may need to add a new data input in the profile editor so the profile will be available in the Dynamic Data Library in the Content Studio.

Environment

  • Product: Profile Editor
  • Components: Profile Editor
  • Control System: Show Control System (SCS)

Steps

Follow the steps to configure the new profile in Content Studio.

Open the Profile Editor, located in the Utilities folder under the start menu and Daktronics folder.

  1. Make sure Display Studio and Content Studio are closed on all Show Control computers.
  2. Username and Password are automatically generated.

Add a new profile.

  1. Click the GREEN + in the Profile: section if adding a new sport, then provide a name to the profile that is being configured and click OK.
  2. If not adding a new sport and you would like to add the inputs as part of a different sport (i.e, DXTR with Major League Baseball) select the sport from the dropdown and go to step 3.

Manage the input and DID.

  1. If .did is not present in Profile Editor already you can Import the .ITF under Manage DID Files. Or if a DID has been found or created already, Click the Green Plus sign in the same area and locate the .did that was placed created or transferred to the Computer.
    1. The above steps will import the DID into the Nucleus Data Base.
  2. If creating a new input, click the GREEN + in the Available Inputs section, and assign the name, number for V7000 port, and or offset for M3 controller. If editing an existing input, click the gear cogs in the Available Inputs section, and assign the name of the input (typically similar to the name in step 2).
    1. If using a DMP-8000, the DSRC File Name will need to match the .did file name, but will also require a .dsrc file match to work.  ***See Additional Notes section at bottom of page.
    2. If using a DMP-7000, the Number value will need to match the RTD input value in Venus 7000.
    3. If using a DMP-3000 (M3), the Offset may need to be adjusted in increments of 5000 (standard).
  3. If needing to generate .dsrc files for RTD, use the following steps:

    1. In the Create a DSRC Files section, select the DID file that will be used for the DSRC basis.
    2. Select the Port Type (typically UDP), and assign it a port value. (21000, 3002, etc.)
    3. Click Generate DSRC File, then once the file is generated, transfer it to the DMP player in the Content or Data folder (depending on version).

Pair the data source.

Pairing the DID with the configured input is the last Step. Clicking the GREEN + .in the Pair section, then select the Input setup previously created or edited and select the correct DID file then click OK.
