Recently, Wild Rose Casino & Resort in Jefferson, Iowa, swapped out their LED marquee for a new sign. They moved the old one to a different location with lower traffic.

Why the change?

Four years ago, the Wild Rose located in Jefferson started looking for an LED sign. They ended up installing one at a bargain price. The sign manufacturer assured the casino that their new sign was comparable to a Daktronics display.

A couple of years later, Wild Rose became so unsatisfied with how the content looked, they turned to a different sign company for help, Convey Sign Solutions, Inc., in Waterloo, Iowa.

Convey Sign then talked to their Daktronics rep about an onsite product demonstration. The rep arrived with a Daktronics sign mounted to a trailer and positioned the display below the casino’s.

Results of the demo

Convey Signs owner Bari Richter says, “Not all digital signage is created equal. Having the ability to show the Wild Rose leadership team a Daktronics display next to their current display certainly helped them to make the decision. There was no doubt the difference in quality.”

“The onsite demo definitely helped us to make a decision. We were able to compare our options,” says Aaron Harn, Wild Rose Casino marketing manager.

The new display promotes the amenities the casino and resort offers their patrons. Static custom-made slides and some video content feature their exciting gaming events, amazing range of live entertainment and tasty dining options.

How effective has the new display been?

“The information we run on the display does help increase foot traffic. It also creates a call to action and an opportunity to create a conversation with potential guests,” Harn says.
