Text styles allow users to create presets to automatically adjust properties such as font, size, color, spacing, etc. when the characters become too large for their bounding box. This feature is helpful for real time data fields that may have an unpredictable number of characters such as a name. When applied, if the primary style exceeds the size of its bounding box, the text automatically switches to the alternative style in order to provide a better fit within the bounding box.

Styles can be applied per character. This feature is configured per user station.

Steps

Create a Style preset.

  1. Within an open message, Click on the Design tab.
  2. Click Manage to open the Manage Styles window.
  3. New styles can be created from existing or from new.
  4. Click new and pick all the settings.
    1. Review the Font, Shadow, Outline and Paragraph options.
    2. If your desired font is not available, see: How do I install additional fonts?

  5. Add a name for the style and click OK.

Apply a Style.

  1. Create a message with text.
  2. Click on the Design tab.
  3. Select the text and select the primary or alternative style to apply.
Note: If the text exceeds the length of the bounding box while using the primary style, the system will automatically apply the alternate style.
