Purdue University Upgrading Fan Experience At Mackey Arena With 13 Daktronics LED Displays
BROOKINGS, S.D. – Sept. 15, 2017 –Purdue University's Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Indiana, will welcome 13 new LED displays manufactured and installed by Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota. The new system is currently being installed and be ready to inform and entertain Boilermaker fans when basketball seasons begin.
"The new video boards will bring even more energy and engagement to our already tremendous game-day atmosphere, which will both benefit our basketball programs and further entertain our fans," said Mike Bobinski, Purdue vice president and athletics director.
A centerhung display system will be installed over the playing surface is comprised of four curved video displays, each measuring 13 feet high by 19 feet wide and featuring 6-millimeter line spacing. Installed above these displays will be a ring display featuring 10-millimeter line spacing and measuring 3 feet high by 109 feet in circumference.
Four 11-foot-high by 20-foot-wide video displays will also be installed, one in each corner of the arena. Additionally, four ribbon displays will be grace the seating fascia of the arena, each measuring 3 feet high by 47 feet wide. All will feature 10-millimeter line spacing to provide crisp, clear imagery to fans in every seat.

"The new centerhung configuration will bring excitement and energy to the building during every home game and we're looking forward to seeing it happen this winter for the Boilermakers."
The main centerhung displays and corner displays are capable of variable content zoning allowing them to show one large image or be divided into multiple zones to show any combination of live video, instant replays, game statistics and information, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages. The ring and ribbon displays will provide complementary statistics and information to the main displays while also providing the opportunity to highlight sponsors throughout events.
Purdue University will also receive a bank of hours for the creation of digital content to be produced and delivered by Daktronics Creative Services at the request of the university.
