FL-5000: Cash and Credit Display is not Showing Correct Messages

Potential Symptoms

  • FTFU
  • Cash and credit display is not showing correct messages
  • Custom message appears blank
  • Custom message is missing
  • Display is only showing cash, credit/debit

Environment

  • Product: FL-5000
  • Component: FL5
  • Control System: FL5, Fuelink 5

Cause

  • Mod Firmware and Font are not updated, message display is not configured correctly

Resolution

  1. Access the Fuelink 5
  2. Detect Displays by going to Configuration > Detect and click on the Detect System icon
    1. When finished detecting, the Total Displays should show the correct amount of displays
  3. Click the Save icon to commit the detected configuration to memory
  4. Go to Tools > System Tools and click on Update Display Firmware:

    2. Note: The red message will sometimes still appear even after finishing update
    3. Run test patterns by clicking on Tools > Run Tests scroll to Run Test Pattern and from the drop down menu select "Firmware Version" then click the run icon
    4. If the modules display the latest firmware version (272) you can ignore the red message, otherwise press Update Display Firmware again
  5. After the update is complete, in the same window click on Send Default under Font Firmware:
  6. Configure Frames

  7. Then configure Product names and Prices

    2. Note: A message display will appear as the yellow icon and a price display will appear as the green icon:

  8. Confirm if the display is showing correctly
