TriCaster Not Able To Load YouTube Streaming Plugin; IE Not Supported in Daktronics system

Potential Symptoms

  • Not able to sign in to the YouTube Plugin.
  • After signing in, the plugin only shows a white screen.
  • When trying to sign in, get an alert message "Sign in with Google temporarily disabled for this app."

Cause

Per TriCaster: "So it appears that Standard Edition is the one software build that wouldn't let you change the default browser within the system Stream Config area.  That doesn't affect the units ability to stream of course, just that they would need to use a separate laptop for configuring/monitoring the stream on YouTubes site."
 

Resolution

  1.  Create a new stream in YouTube Studio on a seperate computer. Copy the StreamURL and StreamKey.

  2. In Tricaster, click on the gear icon next to the stream button. Select the custom preset at the bottom.
    1. 460/860: YouTube Live Event Livestream Configuration Guide (site.com)
    2. TC1: TC1 and Advanced Edition Version 2 & 3 Custom Stream to Facebook (site.com)
  3. Rename the preset, set your video quality, and add the StreamURL and StreamKey from step 1.
  4. Press ok to save the settings and start streaming. YouTubeLive2.png

  5. Press the Live button in YouTube Studio and copy the link to a new tab to verify the stream is working.
