Small flathead.pngSmall flathead screwdriver, 1/8" or 3mm; used for terminal block and phoenix block as well as small component adjustment
Stuby.pngStubby #2 screwdriver (ratcheting preferred); used for removal/installation of amplifier-hood (MF driver 2-5 in 2000HD)
pin pop.pngAMP 305183 Molex pin popper tool; used to remove Molex pin crimp from Molex connector plug
drill.pngBattery-powered hand drill/driver; used for quick removal of access panels, amplifiers, and drivers
Right Angle.jpgDewalt Right Angle Attachment Flex Shaft: DWARAFS. (Not required) For easier removal of amplifier-hood on MF cabinets, allows drill use instead of stubby screwdriver.

  • 4mm (5/32") Hex bit; used for removal of access panels
  • 3/16" bit; used for removal of mid/low frequency drivers in the 500HD, 1500HD, and 2000HD

  • 9/16" wrench; used for adjusting mid/high frequency driver angles in 500HD/1500HD
  • 3/4" wrench for adjusting mid/high frequency driver angles in 2000HD
  • 10mm wrench; used for replacement of high frequency drivers in the 500HD, 1500HD, and 2000HD

 

knife.pngRazor knife; used for removal of weather seal silicone on access panels of older audio cabinets (not required for newer cabinets)
wire strip.pngWire stripper; used to cut, strip, and prepare copper signal wire for termination
solder.pngButane/cordless soldering iron; used to terminate and repair soldered connections
meter.pngDigital Volt/Ohm/Multi-meter; used for testing voltage levels and driver/voice coil resistance
lti.pngA-3214898 (DAK Part Number) LTIGLBLOX are a consumer to pro interfaces. The converts input from consumer grade equipment (laptop computers, MP3 players, CD players) to a mic level balanced output.

Dayton Audio DATS V3 Computer Based Speaker & Audio Component Test System (Required for Custom Audio Installations)

- Techs who are assigned Custom Installations will need to procure themselves.  Kits will not be built.

 

Butt set.jpgA lineman's handset (Butt Set) is an inexpensive way to have a tool used to monitor incoming audio of all types. From Line level to 70V Speaker signals. (Used for Custom Audio Installations and System Checks)
A tone generator and probe set is a useful way to send tone down lines and identify them at the other end.  This tool can also be used directly on a speaker line to play tone over any speakers connected to that line.

Flashlight or headlamp; used to safely work inside audio cabinets
(there are no service lights installed within standard audio cabinets)

 

 

fiber.pngFiber optic cable termination kit and ST connectors; used to terminate 50um fiber optic with ST connections and replace damaged terminations
Ethernet Cables to connect to the audio network for troubleshooting and monitoring
Paintbrush and/or compressed air.  These should be used to dust off equipment and remove excessive dust out of hard to reach places.
Wire brush and contact cleaner for removing corrosion from connections exposed to the elements.

Audio test CD or Digital audio player (i.e. Smart Phone with system connection); used to play test tracks to verify proper operation.

Laptop with CobraNet discovery and Monitoring Applications installed; used for system commissioning and troubleshooting

 

Ethernet crossover cable is required for direct connection to some older amplifiers; crossover cable is not required when connecting to a network switch
