What are the expected resistance readings for CAN signal harness on a Vanguard series display?

Topic

  • What are the expected resistance readings for CAN harness on a Vanguard series display?

Environment

  • Product Family: Transportation
  • Product: VF, VM series displays
  • Components: CAN signal harnessing
  • Control System: Vanguard or NTCIP compliant software

Steps

  1.   All resistance reading should be taken with a millimeter across CAN H (orange) and CAN L (blue). When CAN harness is connected to modules it should read ~60 ohms. There should be ~120 ohms at the VCB and on the harness when mods are disconnected.
  2.   If resistance is less than expected than this typically indicates a short while if greater then it can indicate an open. Problems may occur on module or harness itself.  Further troubleshooting should be done to determine which component has issue.
