M Series controller offline in VCS; Incorrect Default Gateway

Potential Symptoms

  • M Series controller is offline in VCS but Bridge is online.
    • May be present after display controller replacement and IP settings configured in new controller.
    • May occur with new M Series Bridge configuration.

Environment

  • Product Family: Message Displays
  • Product: Galaxy AF-3500
  • Component: Network connection configuration, M Series Hardware or Software Bridge 
  • Control System: Venus Control Suite (VCS)

Cause

  • Default Gateway incorrect which is preventing controller from communicating to the site network.

Resolution

  • Modify Default Gateway setting on display (M Series) controller to allow access to the network.
