How to enable logging on an SBC

Environment

  • Product Family: Transportation
  • Product: LS-1000, AF-6710
  • Components: SBC 
  • Control System: DVS embedded, DVS player 

Steps

  • Disable the write filter on the display How to disable write filter
  • Below is the file paths to enable logs on the SBC.
    • For signs using DVS embedded go to this location: C:\DVS\DVS_EMBEDDED_4_7\services\Application.properties
    • For signs using DVS player go to this location: C:\DVS\DVS_PLAYER_4_7\services\Application.properties
  • Edit the properties file and change logToConsole=True to logToConsole=False
  • Click save this will enable logging on the SBC.
  • Re-enable the write filter
  • To locate the logs follow below file path on the SBC
    • For signs using DVS embedded go to this location: C:\DVS\DVS_EMBEDDED_4_7\logs\Application.log
    • For signs using DVS player go to this location:  C:\DVS\DVS_PLAYER_4_7\logs\Application.log
  • You can also copy the log folder if sending information to engineering.

NOTE: This should be disabled after troubleshooting and logs aren't needed anymore.
