Steps
- Confirm power is on for all components
- The rack power switch should be on
- Older racks may have a horizontal power strip that must also be on
- Verify individual components are on with their LCD screens or power LEDs
- With a source playing, test that the source device is getting signal into the mixer
- Adjust the Gain knob on the channel the source is plugged into and verify the Green SIGNAL LED lights up and the PEAK LED does not light up.
- Press the HOME (METER) button until the CH1-32 tab is selected on the screen
- On the screen, the METER MODE should be set to LEVEL and POSITION should be set to PRE FADER. Use the arrow pad and dial to select these settings.
- Verify signal bars show on the channel being tested.
- If no signal is showing:
- Check that the source is playing and is plugged in
- Test the source output by measuring AC voltage between pins 2 and 3 of the XLR or tip and sleeve of the 1/4" TRS connector and check the wiring or try a different source
- Check the terminal blocks on the BOP In/Out cards in the rack
- Check the output of the source device
- Make sure the MONITOR/2TR IN button is NOT depressed
- Verify the channel is being sent to the STEREO bus
- Press the PAN/ROUTING button until the ROUT1-16 tab is selected on the screen. Verify that the S button is selected on screen for the channel being tested. This allows it to send to the STEREO slider.
- Use the arrows and enter button to enable/select the S button if needed.
- Test the output meters
- Make sure all sliders are at a safe low level
- Verify the ON buttons for the channel being tested and the STEREO slider are on and their LED is lit up
- Verify no SOLO buttons are illuminated by pressing the CLEAR solo button above the control dial
- Set the STEREO slider at 0 and slowly bring up the channel being tested. The signal should be visible on the main output meter.
- If still no signal, plug in headphones and listen for signal.
- Press SOLO for channel being tested and listen for signal
- If still no signal, contact helpdesk/engineering.
