Steps

After each step, check that the system is working properly to avoid unnecessary troubleshooting

    • Confirm power is on for all components.
      1. The Red LED should be lit on the front of the Middle Atlantic power distribution unit, showing power is present.
      2. Verify individual components are on with their LCD screens or power LEDs
    • Ensure the Audio Signal switch is in the ON position

    • With a source playing, test that the source device is getting signal into the mixer.
      1. Make sure no PFL buttons are pressed in. The PFL Active light will turn off under the meters when no PFL buttons are pressed.
      2. Then press the PFL button for the source being tested only, the PFL Active light will turn on and the meters will show the input signal of that input channel.

      3. Adjust the Gain knob so the signal LEDs light up to the 0 LEDs
        1. If there is no signal showing, check that the source is playing and is plugged in.  Test the source output by measuring AC voltage between pins 2 and 3 of the XLR and check the wiring or try a different source.
      4. Once gain is set, turn off the PFL button for the source channel so the PFL active light turns off.
    • Confirm all Pan knobs are set to their center position

    • Confirm the Mute button is in the OUT position
    • Turn the fader of the source channel up and the master faders up to 0, the Meter lights should now show output signal
      1. If the meters do not show any signal:
        1. Confirm that the 2 TRACK Monitor button is NOT depressed, and the PFL active light is off

        2. Recheck the Gain and Pan knobs and confirm the Mute buttons are Off (in the out position)
        3. Confirm nothing is plugged into the insert jacks

    • Check for signal at the output of the mixer by removing the XLR cable connected to MIX-L and/or MIX-R and reading the voltage between Pin 2 (positive) and Pin 3 (negative) of the  XLR jack.  If there is no voltage here, the mixer likely needs to be replaced.
    • If there is voltage at the XLR outputs, reconnect the XLR to the Mix output and measure voltage at the Audio Out jack on the back or side of the SSR-200.
      1. If there is no voltage at the Audio Out jack on the rack, repair the wiring between the Mixer output and the I/O panel Audio Out connection.
