  • Control System: All Sport - Consoles with a firmware version older than 1.2.0 won't have a Reset 2 option. 
NCAA basketball rule change for 2019-2020:
  • Rule change to reset the shot clock to 20 seconds after an offensive rebound. See: NCAA June05Report.
The All Sport 5000 and All Sport 5500 are capable of supporting a Dual Reset feature that will be needed to accommodate this new rule. Contact Daktronics Help Desk 800-325-8766 to review with a tech the current onsite equipment.

Steps

The second reset value will need to be used for the 20 Sec reset.  The general steps for setting shot clock presets are also explained in detail on pages 44-46 in the All Sport 5000 manual.

  1. Turn on your All Sport 5000 or All Sport 5500.
  2. Verify that the mode is correct for Basketball.  
  3. Use the menu button and navigational arrows to go to the following: 

    1. MENU > MAIN ENTER DISPLAY MENU? > ENTER 
    2. MENU-DISPLAY> MAIN EDIT SETTINGS?> ENTER
    3. Click on the down arrows until you arrive at SHOT CLOCK-TIME RESET 1
  1. Enter the desired reset times for RESET 1 and RESET 2.

    1. SHOT CLOCK-TIME RESET 1
      1. Enter the minutes and seconds.  For example: 00:30.  
      2. Press Enter.
    2. SHOT CLOCK-TIME RESET 2
      1. Enter the minutes and seconds.  For example: 00:20.  
      2. Press Enter.  
    3. Press CLEAR/No to exit the menu.

All Sport Operator work flow: 

  1. During normal play/ The shot clock is running. 
  2. A shot is attempted, the ball hits the rim.
  3. The operators waits until possession of the ball is established and then press and release the appropriate RESET button.
    1. Reset 1 which is 30 seconds for the defensive team
    2. Reset 2 which is 20 seconds for the offensive team in the frontcourt
    To avoid mistakes, familiarize yourself with changes prior to the first game.
