New install, BLD/DXB, top half not powered, relay control cable not dropped

Potential Symptoms

  • The top half of the display is not powered.
  • The top is getting power but is not getting through the relay in each power entrance.
  • Each relay is not reading 120VAC across its white and purple wire connections.

Cause

  • Each section may have more than one power entrance.
  • The purple and white wires in the power entrances in each section are hooked together.
  • Each section will have one cable that runs from it's power entrances to where it will hook up to the control equipment in the lower section.
  • During a new installation this cable may not have been hooked up.

Resolution

  • Don't know where to connect the cable if there a iBoot.
  • If there is a Smartlink, Relay 3 will have a cable with white and purple wires connected to it that'll split into two ends. The cable from power entrances in each section should connect to an end of that split cable.
  • That cable is in the Relay enclosure with the rest of the relays.
  • The purple/white wire will be coiled up on the top half of the display, and should be ran to the bottom half through the same passthrough the fiber cables are ran.
  • The cable will need to be connected to they relay box next to the Smartlink.
