AF-6710 blank section or garbled text on the sign

Potential Symptoms

  • A section of the sign is blank.
  • The sign has garbled text and not displaying correctly.

Environment

  • Product Family: Transportation
  • Product: AF-6700, AF-6711
    • Double face (DF) sign has 4 cat5 cables per sign.
    • Single face (SF) sign has 2 cat5 cables per sign.
  • Component: Cat 5 cable, Cluster boards
  • Control System:  DVS

Cause

  • Cat5 cable going into the cluster boards might be bad. Not making a good connection.

Resolution

  1. Replace existing Cat5 cable. with replacement part W-1506 Cat5 cable.
  2. Locate the Globus cluster board.
  3. Remove the existing cable from each Globus cluster board and replace with the new cable.
    • Single face (SF) sign has 2 cat5 cables per sign.
    • Double face (DF) sign has 4 cat5 cables per sign
