Potential Symptoms

  • FLXR3 server radio loses connection to all clients after connecting POS interface cable to DM-100.

Cause

  • Metal base of server antenna is touching some sort of metal (for example, metal trim on a roof) that is at a different potential than the POS system ground, resulting in a ground loop when the POS interface cable was plugged in.

Resolution

  • Re-mount the server antenna to eliminate contact with metal structures/objects.
    • The fix can be tested prior to remounting by either floating the existing antenna or using a spare antenna/cable and holding the antenna for temporary operation.
