Display's intensity adjusts through the day but is usually dimmer than nearby displays, configuration incorrect

Potential Symptoms

  • The display is usually more dim than nearby displays although its intensity will adjust through the day based off it's light reading.
  • During sunny days, the display is capable of reaching %100 intensity but does not stay at that intensity as long as nearby displays.
  • Power cycling the light sensor and the controller doesn't resolve the issue.

Cause

  • The Temperature sensor is also capable of providing a light reading.
  • This feature is normally not used because, the way it is built, the sensor doesn't get as much light exposure as a normal light sensor.
  • The display is currently set to get it's light reading from the Temperature sensor.

Resolution

  • Connect to the VIP's web configuration.
  • Go to Configuration (on the left side), then Peripherals.
  • In the Light peripheral, change its Address from 1 to 2. Then Save.
