Display stuck in download state, transition applied in VCS to media file within playlist

Potential Symptoms

  • Venus Control Suite shows green download arrow stuck.

Environment

Cause

  • Transitions can not be applied directly in Venus Control Suite (VCS) to Web Presentations for players that are not controlled by a DMP-8000 (ver 8.6.0.0 or later).

Resolution

  1. Remove the transition from the media file within the playlist
    1. Select Playlist on the left side of the screen
    2. Select the appropriate playlist
    3. Locate any files in the "Media File" portion of the screen that have a lightning bolt next to the three list before the preview of the file. (See image below for an example)

    5. Click on the item and a screen will pop up with details pertaining to that file.
    6. Scroll to the bottom and click remove transition.
    7. Click Confirm.
    8. Click Save.
    9. Verify that the download stuck icon has gone away on the dashboard.
  2. In order to have a transition the content will need to be created using content studio.
    1. Launch Content studio - How do I launch Content Studio for Venus Control Suite?, DD3000283.
    2. Create Message.
    3. Apply Transition - How do I add transitions to a layout in Content Studio?, DD2076843.
    4. Save file.
    5. Add new file to playlist.
    6. Save Playlist.
    7. Verify transition is now on display.
