Shot Clock: How do I troubleshoot transparent or clear digits

- Components: BB-2140; BB-2141; BB-2150; BB-2151
- Control Systems: All Sport 5000
Steps
- Does the issue resemble Example One (digit segments randomly flashing on one or both digits) or Example Two (both digits simultaneously play random content or blank)?
- Example One
- Example Two
- For Example One, proceed to Step 2.
- For Example Two, proceed to Step 5.
- Push and hold reset 1. Do the digits blank?
- If Yes, proceed to Step 3.
- If No, proceed to Step 4.
- Disable FIBA mode. Refer to Shot clock time blanks when press and hold reset button, FIBA mode enabled. for instruction. Does issue resolve?
- If Yes, your troubleshooting is complete.
- If No, proceed to Step 4.
- Replace harness (and digits if needed) . Check manufacturing date to determine if shot clock was built previous to June 2017. This is located on the shot clock's white part number label. If built prior to June 2017, new digits will need to be ordered and installed as well. Does issue resolve?
- If Yes, your troubleshooting is complete.
- If No, proceed to Step 8.
- Confirm that the All Sport is using the proper code. Refer to All Sport: What code should I use for my scoreboard? . Change code if necessary and proceed to Step 6.
- Is dimming set to none in All Sport? Refer to All Sport 5000: How to adjust dimming level for further detail.
- If Yes, proceed to Step 8.
- If No, proceed to Step 7.
- Set All Sport dimming per The two shot time digits on both transparent shot clocks randomly have digit segments light up or go out at the same time . Does issue resolve?
- If Yes, your troubleshooting is complete.
- If No, proceed to Step 8.
- Secure wiring harness . Does issue resolve?
- If Yes, your troubleshooting is complete.
- If No, contact Daktronics for further assistance.
