Sportsound amp showing offline, Disconnected Ethernet Cable

Potential Symptoms

  • Amp is showing offline in CobraNet Disco utility
  • Showing link lights on the ports for the amp

Cause

  • It has been reported that some of the anti-snag covers on the locking tabs for Ethernet cables are pressing down on the tab keeping the cable from fully seating and locking in the port causing a "false" offline status and leading to the assumption that an amp has failed.

Resolution

  • Check cable to ensure it is locked into the Ethernet port on the amp
  • Trim off the anti-snag cover using a knife or scissor from the cable if this is the case
