Ribbon Displays: How do I change the start position with negative window or zone values?

Topic

  • How to change the start position for a Fascia or ProAd type display
  • How do I use negative values for windows in 7000 or zones in 8000 displays

Environment

  • Product: DMP 7000 and DMP 8000
  • Components: Windows and Zones
  • Control System:

Steps

DMP 8000 (using VCS Layout Editor)

  1. Launch VCS Layout Editor for your Fasica display
  2. Add a new zone, sized the full size of the Fascia display.
  3. Set the Left pixel value to the location where you would like the start location for the content. This will be a positive number.

  1. Click Add View to add a "copy" instance of the same Zone
  2. Set the Left pixel value to your negative value
    1. Your negative value will be the original zone's left value (positive number) minus the total width of the display.
EX: 868-6000=-5132

When playing content to the Full Zone, the content will start in the new location and look seamless at the physical start point.

DMP 7000

  1. Create a window the full size of the fascia display
  2.  Add that window to the Host and set the Column value to whatever pixel location the customer wants the start of the content to be. This should be a positive number.

  1. Add a second instance of the same window to the Host and set the Column value to your negative value.
    1. Your negative value will be the Column value from the first window instance minus the whole size of the display.
EX: 868-5000=-4132

  1. When you play files to the Full Window, it will play to both instances of the window on the host and will look seamless at the physical start point.
