How to setup a Decimator for Incoming Video -OR- to use it to produce a test pattern input to a DMP-8000

Steps

Install the Decimator Design Control Software and connect a USB mini cable between your laptop and the Decimator. (Note: This cable is usually shipped in the gathering packet box)

IN THE CONTROL TAB

 

 

  1. Set output source to Scaler/TPG for both the SDI and HDMI Outputs (Shown in image below - red arrow)
  2. Set Scaler Source to SDI or HDMI depending on which input you would like to use. (Shown in image below - blue arrow and oval)
  3. Set the Scaler Reference to FREE RUN. (Shown in image below - blue arrow)
  4. Ensure Output 1 Loop Enable is UNCHECKED (Shown in image below - circled in green)

IN THE TPG/SCALING TAB

  1. Set Output Format to HD1280x720p59.94. (Shown in image below - blue arrow)
  2. You can also utilize this device as a test pattern generator. Check the Test Pattern Enable Box and then select Test Pattern from pull-down below. (Shown in image below - red oval)
    • Don't forget to remove the check box from the Test Pattern Enable Box once you are completed to allow for video input to pass through to the output.

This should complete the Decimator MD-Cross V2 Configuration. Please reboot the DMP-8000 player.
