DMP-8000 video tearing while using remote access software

Potential Symptoms

  • Video output from DMP-8000 is tearing at the top when using VNC, Bomgar, or other remote access software.
  • A horizontal line is visible across the output of the player.
  • Video is jittering or flashing at different intensities.
  • More noticeable during moments in the video with fast motion.

Cause

  • Depending on settings, the video quality and some features are disabled while using Bomgar, VNC, or other remote access programs.  This is done to improve performance for the remote viewer.

Resolution

  • Close out of any open remote access sessions.
    • Further investigation can be made to see if settings can be changed on the specific software.
