GS6 display blank, VIP input resolution incorrect, failed VIP

Potential Symptoms

  • The display is blank, even though the VCS dashboard shows content playing.
  • VIP web configuration page monitor will not show content, is blank, or shows a broken file.
  • the VIP input resolutions are incorrect, very large, or crazy numbers, even though the DMP output device and size is correct.
    • i.e.: 4128830x4259904  @ 0.023Hz opposed to 1440x900 @60Hz.

  • Setting the VIP source and target dimensions manually does not make a difference.
  • VIP will not play test patterns.
  • When the VIP input is set to auto, it has a red dot alert as if a configuration is not set, and wont allow you to save:

Cause

  •    Failed VIP. The VIP is not reading/processing the incoming signal correctly.

Resolution

  • Replace the controller.
