VFC-3000: How to locate firmware version on the controller?

Steps

  1. Locate firmware file on https://dakfiles.daktronics.com/
  2. Select Transportation
  3. Select Firmware.
  4. Select VFC-3000.
  5. Select NTCIP V1 or NTCIP V2 based on what your need for your application. (ED14489 is V1, ED16348 is V2)
    1. To find the firmware currently on your VFC-3000, in the menu navigate to diagnostics then version info, and the first line will be the controller version.
  6. Update firmware using DFTP software program (follow DD2124626 for instructions on how to do so).
  7. Second option could be to update firmware using Vanguard Configuration utility.
  8. Once the Vanguard configuration utility is open on the home screen select Generic Display Type> enter in the controllers IP address in the bar>select Open DFTP Window > Send File (browse) locate firmware file> and click send.
