Venus 1500 software not launching after Windows update; Services not starting automatically

Potential Symptoms

  • Venus 1500 software unable to start.
  • Receiving error "Nucleus service could not be started" when launching the software after Windows updates were run.
    • Nucleus service not starting automatically.
  • If Error is acknowledged, there is a prompt for username and password and if default username and password are entered get another error:
    • An error occurred while logging in. The service is still loading or not running.
  • Daktronics Nucleus, Daktronics Fusion, and/or SQL Server (NUCLEUS) services are set to automatic and not running but also failed to start after computer restart.

Cause

  • Services not starting automatically.

Resolution

  • Update Venus to most current version (4.22 or above).

For Temporary Operation

  1. Manually restart services on the computer.
  2. Verify services start automatically after a computer restart.
