Topic

Environment

  • Product:
  • Components: TriCaster 460

Steps

Roll the mouse pointer over the Record control in the Dashboard (a) and click the Configuration button (gear) that appears (b) to open the Record Configuration panel.

A. Base Name- Click in the Base Name field, and enter a unique name for the captured file(s). Note: TriCaster stores recordings at (drive):\Media\Clips\sessionname\Capture (where "drive" and "sessionname" are appropriate for your system and session).

B. Primary Recording- This is the main source that you will be recording. Select the drop down menu to choose what source you want to record.

C. Add To- When the radio button next to Add To is lit this indicates that your recording once finished will populate to a certain destination. You can choose that destination but selecting the gear next to the words add to and selecting what DDR you want it to go to.

D. Secondary recording- This is for any other source that you would like to record.

Note: You can only record two sources per drive that you have in your TriCaster before you get a yellow warning label saying that this many recordings may slow down your TriCaster and cause some lag. To add another source outside of the secondary select Add source in the bottom left hand corner.
Note: You can record to an external device like an external drive if it is fast enough to take the recording. So, if you needed a full recording of the game you can select this source as your program out.
  1. Once you have all settings configured click Close
  2. Press the Record button. It will illuminate, and the neighboring timecode field will begin keeping track of the duration of your recording.
    1. Note you can also press the record button in the top right corner of your replay console (see picture below for reference)
  3. After you are finished recording, press Record again to stop recording.
    1. Note: On the replay console you will need to press ALT and REC at the same time to stop the recording. (see picture below for reference)
  4. The recording will populate in the bin that you have selected as your primary source
  5. If you would like access to your secondary source you can hit the + sign in your DDR bin. In the left column you will see session recordings and when selected your last recording will be the first one listed with as many secondary sources next to it as you had selected. Just select one or more and then you can press OK.
  6. Timewarp.jpgREC- push this to start your recording
  7. ALT- push this simultaneously with REC to stop the recording
