Topic

  • How to set brightness fall back limits in case of a sensor failure for a VIP?

Environment

  • Product Family: Video Processor
  • Product: VIP-5160, VIP-5000 series
  • Components: User Interface, brightness fall back options for light sensors
  • Control System:

Steps

If your light sensor fails there are fall back options to prevent your display from defaulting to something overly bright.
    1. In the left side menu, click Configuration or the wrench icon to open a configuration menu.
    2. Choose Brightness from the list of configuration options.
Option 1: In the event of sensor failure, choose Use Location to default to the location settings.
Option 2: In the event of sensor failure, choose Use Minimum to default to the minimum brightness configured.  -If your location has brightness regulations, this option will help you ensure you stay within the limits if a light sensor fails.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               brightness limits.png

    3. After making a change to any configuration setting, save that change by clicking the Save button.
    4. After a configuration change is made and saved, a Successfully updated configuration message opens in a green banner across the top of the screen.
