Environment

  • Product: VIP-4000, VIP-4500, VIP-4400, VLink-4000, VLink-4500, VLink-4400
  • Components: Video Mode
  • Control System: DMP-7000

Steps

Channel Configuration

  1. Open VLink Controller
  2. Select the Sign attached to the VIP
  3. Select the proper VLink Index if more than one is being used.
  4. Select the Channel to be set up.
  5. Select an Input to associate to the selected Channel
  6. Select the data source of Video
  7. Set the Viewable Area to be displayed (portion of the Video input to Process)
      • The Below image is an example of a 480X640 Signal.  To remove 20 Lines around the image, the viewable area would  be,  Top=20, Left =20, Height =440 Width =600
      • Note :  If a top of 20 was inserted and the height and width remained at 480X640, the signal would freeze, because the video capture would be outside of the video signal, trying to capture information in the 480 to 500 range.
    1. Top Value = Amount of information to remove from the top of the source
    2. Left Value = Amount of information to remove from the left of the source
    3. Height Value = Amount of information to display from the top value
    4. Width Value = Amount of information to display from the Left value
  8. Input.jpg
  9. Enter the Window Area desired (This Places the Channel in pixels on your display)
    1. Settings work the same as viewable area, except instead of determining what to capture its placing the channel location.
    2. Note:  The Video Captured area determined by the Viewable area, will be placed inside and fill the entire Window area.  It is important that each the Viewable are and window areas aspect ratio are the same or relatively close.  Distortion of the video will happen if these ratios are different.
  10. Enter the Video Fade that is desired - 256 is makes the image fully visible.  A setting of 0 makes the channel fully transparent.  A setting of 128, will create a semi transparent look.
    1. This step may be skipped if Scripting buttons will be made for transitions.
  11. Repeat for all channels to be configured
  12. Create Scripting Buttons for each Look change.
    1. Go to the scripting container
    2. Right click on the desired cell and select Edit cell and give it a name then click OK.
    3. Right click on cell again and select Edit Script file.
      1. Add a Line
      2. Select one of the VLinkTrans(XXXXX) options.  The number at the end of the command decides how many channels to affect within the script command.  Best practice is to always select 4.  Most common Transition command is VLTransXFade4.   Click Next
      3. Select Sign
      4. Select VLink #
      5. Select first Channel
      6. Select the desired Alpha(video Fade) setting and the duration.  The duration is how long the transition will take in milliseconds.  Note: all 4 channels must transition at the same rate.  Select Next.
      7. Repeat last 2 steps for the other 3 channels.
      8. Click Finish
  13. Test to Verify everything is working as intended.
