How to confirm MLB RTD to XML data is being blocked by network credentials?

  • XML Data not populating on the 3rd party computer.  Suspect network credentials may be blocking the files from updating.

      Steps

      The folder for XML data should be on a 3rd party device.  

      To verify the issue is not with Data Server, follow the directions below.  

      1. Open Data Server and locate the MLB RTD to XML Value Pack tile.
      2. Click on the gear icon located in the lower right hand corner of the tile.
      3. Locate the an appropriate stream on the list and click on gear icon. 
      4. Locate XML Output and click configure. 
        1. The path is typically on another computer across the network.  If there is a concern that the XML feed is being blocked by a 2nd computer's credentials, change the path to a local folder.

        2. The example below shows the files outputting to a local folder.  This shows that the data server is writing the files properly.  However, the small size indicates that they have not updated yet or they are not updating.

      If the data updates locally, but not on the 3rd party device, there might be a problem with the files being blocked on the 3rd party device.  
      • Ask the vender or customer to verify that the XML file location allows for this type of communication. 
      • Verify the folders are being saved in the right location on the 3rd party computer.
