Steps

It is recommended to power off the audio system for the following situations:

  1. The audio system will not be used for an extended period of time (i.e. end of season)
    • The system can also be turned off daily, but many power cycles per day is not recommended
  2. There is a threat of lightning or power surge
  3. There is a threat of a power outage or brown out (i.e campus wide power outage or testing)

When powering down the system for short periods of time (i.e. at the end of the day with another event coming up soon)
  1. Power down the control rack
  2. Optionally turn off breakers to the sound system cabinet

When powering down the system for lightning, power surges, outages, or extended periods of time:
  1. Turn off breakers to the sound system cabinet housing the amplifiers, for example the Sportsound 1500HD cabinet, 2000HD cabinet, 500HD control enclosure, or racks containing amplifiers.
  2. Turn off the control rack and unplug power and the main signal out to prevent any damage due to lightning or power surges
  3. Unplug the Fiber Conversion box power
