Topic
- How to Test and Replace a RTL Database for a DMP-7000
Environment
- Product Family: DMP-7000
- Product: DMP-7000
- Components: DMP-7000, V7000
- Control System: DMP-7000
Steps
Testing the Database.
There is a Green or Red light on the V7000 Shell that tells the state of the Database. Green is a Database in working condition, and Red is a Database that needs to be repaired or replaced.
- From V7000 Shell, click on Diagnostics
- Click on RTL
- Click on Test RTL button
- If File V7RTL.mdb and File V7RTLEvt.mdb are both OK, the Database passes and should be repaired. Check your Light Status on Shell to verify.
- If it does not the database will need to be replaced
Replacing the Database
Note: Replacing the RTL Database will lose all existing Data. Reports will not be able to be run on things that have happened in the past.
- Stop Sign Service
- Locate the Database files in C or D drive, which ever location the DMP 7000 Signs and programs are located in.
- Go to the V7000 folder and find V7RTL.mdb and V7RTLEvt.mdb
- Relocate the corrupted databases from Drive:\V7000 V7RTL.mdb and V7RTLEvt.mdb to another location.
- If there is a backup machine, and RTL is working on that machine, move those databases to the primary to the location in step 3, then proceed to step 11. If there is no backup machine and/or RTL is not currently working on the backup, then move to step 6.
- Try to click the Restore backup button in the RTL tab under diagnostics. If that is not successful continue to next step. If it was successful move to Step 11
- If step 6 fails or the button does not exist you can try to do this manually, in the C: or D: \V7000 folder there may be a V7RTL.Backup.mdb and V7RTLEvt.Backup.mdb file.
- These files will need to be renamed by removing ".Backup" from the file name.
- V7RTL.Backup.mdb --> V7RTL.mdb
- V7RTLEvt.Backup.mdb --> V7RTLEvt.mdb
- Move the 2 Database files to the location in Step 3, then proceed to step 11. If the files did not exist move to step 10.
- If all of the above has failed Replace with a blank found on Dakfiles.daktronics.com and browse to venus7000/V7RTL/Blank Databases. If this option was reached and the data from the old database is needed, contact technical support to see if there is any options for partial or complete retrieval.
- Start Sign Service and Check Status on the V7000 Shell, if the light is Green Run go to next step
- Run some content on the display, then run report to verify reporting services are working.
