How to run Check Riff for a DMP-7000

Check Riff is used to check the compatibility of a file with the V7000 software.

DMP-7000 or Venus 7000 will reach end of support July 1, 2023. If you are interested in upgrading to the newest technology, visit Daktronics Professional Services to learn more.  https://www.daktronics.com/en-us/markets/sports/services

Environment

  • Product Family: DMP-7000
  • Product: DMP-7000
  • Components: DMP-7000, V7000
  • Control System: DMP-7000

Steps

  1. Open Windows Explorer, click on Start | Programs |Accessories | Windows Explorer.
  2. Double click on My Computer.
  3. Double click on the V7000 data folder.
  4. Double click on V7ChkRif.exe. The V7 Check Riff window will open.
  5. Modify the Filter to limit scan to certain types of files.
  6. Modify Depth to adjust how many folders deep the scan will go.  (Tip: If all the V7000 sign folders are in need of scanning, place a content file in the V7000 folder and change the Depth to 3.  Select that file in the next step)
  7. Click on the Browse button  next to the File Path text box. Navigate to the location where the files that need to be checked are stored. Double click on one of the files. All of the files in that folder should now be visible in the box at the bottom of the window.
  8. The program will automatically start testing the files. Once a file has been tested, check the Status column to see if any errors were found.
  9. Close the V7 Check Riff program.

Note

The v7chkrif program checks all DMP-7000 sequences and .avi files for corruption. It does not repair the files. Corrupt DMP-7000 sequences or .avi files can cause the DMP-7000 software to run slower on certain animations. Run v7chkrif once a week with heavy file creation or once a month with average use.
