Venus 7000: How do I set up V7000 TXD Output

Steps

Configure the TXD Outputs in the Venus/ DMP-7000
  1. In the Venus 7000 Shell, clink on the Configure Button. 
  2. Click on the TXD Outputs Tab.
  3. Select an output that does not have anything assigned to it currently. Double click in the white space, or click Edit Output to open up the Edit TXD Output window.

Give the output an appropriate name, and select the following communication properties:

  1. Output Type:
    1. Com Port - RS232 Serial Communications (commonly used)
    2. IPX Socket - Type of Internet Protocol (Not Used)
    3. RTD Input - Used to send data on the same port as an RTD input
    4. UDP/IP Socket - Type of Internet Protocol (commonly used)
    5. TCP/IP Socket - Type of Internet Protocol (Not Used)
  2. Port: Select appropriate port
  3. Baud Rate - Baud Rate of the Device being sent to using a Com Port
  4. Parity - Parity for the Device being sent to using a Com Port
  5. Data Bits - Data Bits of the Device being sent to Using a Com Port
  6. Protocol - Protocol for the Device being sent to Using a Com Port
    1. None - No Protocol
    2. Sound Burst - Protocol for Sound Burst
    3. Standard RTD - Protocol for some 3rd party devices
    4. Enhanced RTD - Protocol for most Daktronics Devices
    5. CR LF - Protocol for some 3rd party devices
  7. Broadcast Type - Some of the Output types will have the following options
    1. Broadcast - Sends data to everything to entire network
    2. Local - Sends data back to the same machine.
    3. Other - Allows for Custom IP or range of IPs to be sent on
  8. Click "OK" to save the output configuration.

  9. Click OK to exit Configuration tab, Sign service will need to be restarted
