Steps
- From the V7000 Shell Click Configure
- Select RTD Inputs
- Select an open Input or Edit an existing one
- Name the input
- Select the Source Type
- None - Disables the input
- Comport - Sets the input to a serial RS232 input (very Common)
- IPX socket - Sets the Input to a Internet input of the IPX type (rarely Used)
- File - Sets a specific file to the RTD input (Common)
- Named Pipe - Not Used
- API/Other - Not Used
- UDP/IP Socket - Sets to UDP internet protocol (very Common)
- TCP/IP Socket - Not used
- Select Source
- Depending on the Source Type is what is selected here. Here are the most common
- Comport - Com 1 thru Com 12
- File - Allows user to browse to a file. Usually a Text file or a Comma delimited file.
- UDP/IP - Allows user to select the port in which the data will be transmitted onto the network.
- Protocol - Sets the Protocol for the input
- Standard - Protocol used by some 3rd party suppliers of Data
- Enhanced - Protocol used by Daktronics equipment and some 3rd party suppliers for Data
- Chyron - Protocol Chyron Sends data on
- DataTrac - Protocol DataTrac sends data on
- Sony/Odetics - Protocol Sony/Odetics sends data on
- VDCP - Protocol many Video Devices sends and receives data on, such as switchers.
- Extended ASCII Support - Used for international Characters, rarely used.
- Size - Buffer size of the Input. Set by the Input template if used, otherwise defaults to 4000. If no template is used this would be best to adjust to the length of the Data Stream.
- Ignore CS - ignores Checksums. Rarely used.
- Disable Dimming control - Needs to be disabled if you are dimming the Fixed digit displays with All Sport, and it affects the V7000 Signs as well.
- Default Input Template - Sets an Input template to be used for the input. When selected it should prompt to adjust buffer size, click yes.
- Click OK
- Restart Sign Service
