DMP-8000: Horizontal video tearing, Stuttering/Jittering/Flashing content - Theme Pack

Potential Symptoms

  • A horizontal line is visible across the output of the player.
  • Video is jittering or flashing at different intensities.
  • RTD fields may stutter, for example a running clock
  • More noticeable during moments in the video with fast motion.
  • Playback of VMPFs may have incorrect or unpredictable duration
    • Content is not transitioning from layout to layout or slide to slide.
    • Content sits on one layout or bounces back and forth between two instead of moving to 3rd.
    • Sticks on one slide then as soon as it hits second slide, jumps straight to third slide.

Cause

  • Video rendering speed vs. screen refresh rate

Resolution

  1. After updating to newest version of DMP software (version 8.7+), open a file browser on the DMP and navigate to C:\Program Files\Daktronics\dmp
  2. Double click on the dmp.themepack file.
  3. Close the "Personalization" window that opens as a result.
  4. Restart the DMP 8000 software.
  5. With this theme enabled exit all remote sessions; Bomgar and VNC.

    Any 8.x version of Vnet running on windows 7 should have this theme applied.
