Steps

  1. Wireless microphones must generally be the same brand, series, and frequency band to be compatible. Though some interoperability is possible.
  2. For example, look at Shure QLX-D
    1. There are G50, G51, G52, H50, H51, H52, J50, K51, L50, L51, P51, R51, JA, AB, JB, Q51, X50, X51 frequency bands available around the world.
    2. The frequency band of the receiver already installed can be found right under the display of the receiver.

    3. To have full/proper functionality of the system, any replacement microphone or additional receivers must be in the same frequency band as the existing receiver, in this case J50
    4. If a second receiver is installed and it is a different band, there is no guarantee that there will not be interference between units
    5. It is possible to manually program a different frequency band microphone/transmitter to the receiver as long as they cover the same frequency range.  However, sync and some features will not work.
    6. It is also possible to manually program a ULX-D transmitter to the QLX-D receiver and vice-versa, however they must be the same frequency band, but sync will not work, and if encryption is desired, it will also not work.
  3. For Shure ULX-P receivers, the frequency band can be found above the power switch

  5. For Shure Axient receivers, the frequency band can be found at the left of the receiver
