NovaStar: Module stuck on red, module or modules with white lines showing through content or section blank
Potential Symptoms
- Module will not show content
- Only solid red
- Only solid black
- White lines showing through content
Environment
- Product Family: Sender Box
- Product: Nova MCTRL 600, Nova MCTRL 660, NovaStar VX4S, NovaStar brand sender box and receiver cards
- Components: NovaLCT-Mars
- Control System: Market Standard or Limited Compliance using transmit common/open protocol
- This includes but not limited to DVN-4003, Dragon sticks, J Series, JVX, U Series, Q Series, QVN, SLD, Z Series, and ZPN.
Cause
- Unseated or partially seated receiver card.
Resolution
Order of Operations can be very important for proper return of display signal.
- Completely cut power to display (at breaker level, not just power button on display)
- Remove module from display and reseat receiver card.
- receiver card could be located under a different module - one that may be displaying properly within the shared panel of distorted modules
- Ensure that all receiver card screws are tightened and reinsert module.
- Put modules back on display
- Energize display
- If module takes on grainy appearance, resend calibration to the modules
- If display doesn't come back to functional state, replace receiver card (following the steps above)
- resend calibration to the modules after replacing receiver card
