Potential Symptoms

  • When installing Venus 1500 V4.17 from disk on Windows 10, receiving an error.
    • "A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections (provider: SQL Network interfaces, error: 26 - Error locating Server/Instance Specified)" when installing or updating to Venus 1500 v4.22.

Cause

  • Installing unsupported version of Venus 1500 on Windows 10 computer.

Resolution

  1. Download current version of Venus 1500 (v4.22 or newer) from Daktronics.com.
  2. Run installer to install the Venus 1500 software.
