Black lines across the billboard, View from Webcam; Exposure settings

Potential Symptoms

  • Black lines or shadow, on and possibly moving, across the billboard if viewed from the webcam.
    • Curved lines:1116606_web image lines_2019-01-10_16-25-28.png
    • Dark moving lines: 1116606_2019-01-10_16-40-28.png
  • No black lines on the billboard if viewed from onsite, but present on webcam view.

Cause

  • The webcam can't correctly process the image with how much sunlight it is receiving.
    • Due to the angle of the webcam view, this camera effect can be exaggerated.
    • Visual effect is not actually happening on the display, only the camera view.

Resolution

  • Some adjustments can be made to the exposure settings on the webcam, to make the effect less dramatic.
