Galaxy Pro display is dim; Light sensor is being obstructed

Potential Symptoms

  • Display is dim during middle of day when display should be at full brightness.
  • VIP web config page is reporting low dimming level for time of day.
    • The light sensor or "peripherals" tile is reading "0".

Cause

  • Light sensor has an obstruction blocking light from reaching the photocell.
    • Trim piece from the structure is blocking the displays light sensor.
    • Photocell was painted over.
    • Holiday decorations covering photocell.
    • Tape from installation or electrician.
    • Bug, dirt, or environmental/weather (ice/snow).

Resolution

  • Clear or clean the sensor window.
    • OR: Move Light sensor to a spot that is not blocking light from reaching the photocell. Be aware, some controllers respond to changes in photocell readings gradually.
