NovaStar VX4S does not accept or work well with video feed from A/D converter

Environment

  • Product Family: Sender Box
  • Product: NovaStar VX4S, NovaStar brand sender box and receiver  cards
  • Components: NovaLCT-Mars, Monitoring/ Status Checks
  • Control System: Market Standard or Limited Compliance using transmit common/open protocol
    • This includes but not limited to DVN-4003, Dragon Sticks, J Series, JVX, SLD-x200, SLD-x400, U Series, Q Series, QVN, Z Series, and ZPN.

Cause

  • The old firmware does not compatible to some input sign size and frequency ( eg: 1080i@50HZ)

Resolution

Update VX4S firmware with NovaLct Version 4.5.1 by following step below:

  1. Use advance log in and type password:666

  2. Once logged in, keep type 666888 and enter.  (notice, do not move mouse or touch any key after log in. Type 666888+enter )

  3. In the program path: select  my documents->NovaLCT 2012->Data->SendCard->Data_VX4S_V1.3.3.0(or latest version)

  4. Click update

  5. Once the update is completed, VX4S will be reboot again. 

  6. Go back to the main interface of the NovaLCT and click settings->Hardware information->Refresh, the firmware version show up

Work Around

  1. Press ESC on the VX4S for 5 second, the advance setup mode is on and adjust the configuration.
